Aamir Khan is the co-producer of this film. Kiran Rao recently told in an interview that the role of policeman played by Ravi Kishan in the film was initially supposed to be played by Aamir Khan himself. He also auditioned for this role. However, when Kiran and Aamir saw the audition tape of Ravi Kishan, they realized that Ravi was better than Aamir for that role.
During a conversation with The Week, Kiran Rao said, “There was a lot of discussion between Aamir and me about whether he should play the role of Manohar, which is now played by Ravi Kishan. Aamir had said that I liked that character very much. I really want to play that.”

Talking about Ravi Kishan's character and his acting, Kiran Rao said, “I think he (Ravi Kishan) has included a lot of surprises in this character because you never know what to expect from him. When Aamir is in a role, he sets certain expectations from his character. Aamir stuck to the decision that Ravi could do it better and I would not be able to do full justice to it.”
This comedy drama of Kiran Rao will be released in theaters on March 1 next month. The trailer of the film has received a decent response. The film has been jointly produced by the venture of Kiran Rao (Kindling Production) and Aamir Khan (Aamir Khan Production).
